Thy Kingdom Come 2020

We shall be supporting Thy Kingdom Come again this year, which is a season of prayer in the period between Ascension and Pentecost (21st to 31st May this year) where we will be joining with others worldwide in prayer. We will be praying for five people who do not yet know Jesus, whom God has placed on our hearts to pray for during TKC and beyond, that they may know Jesus personally for themselves. There is a Prayer Journal to help us pray during this period and a link to it is below by looking for ways we can practically help our neighbours and the wider community.

In addition this year, because of the Coronavirus pandemic, we are also being encouraged to pray for our local community, and looking for ways to pray and practically support others. The TKC people call it Prayer & Care. This is a time to share hope and the power of prayer in a practical way.

As regards formal activities, we shall be doing the following during the TKC 10 days:

Thursday May 21st 10-30am Ascension Service. As for Sunday services, this will be available on its own page on the Church website. After its premiere at 10-30, it will continue to be available for viewing subsequently.

Daily May 22nd to May 30th (except Sunday 24th) 12 to 12-30pm Daily Prayers. This will be a short time of reflection and prayer as we did last year, except this shall be on Zoom. Details will be circulated by Steve by email. If you have not received notification by Ascension Day, please contact us for logon details.

Sunday May 31st 10-30 am Pentecost Sunday Service available as usual through the Church website.

Thy Kingdom Come in Suffolk has a 24/7 Prayer Marathon set up and the poster below gives you information if you want to be involved. Additionally, they suggest we light a candle and pray each evening to show to our neighbours that in a dark world that Jesus is the Light of the World. They have also got some more prayer ideas on their website.

There is a daily prayer journal available for TKC as a pdf file, with readings and prayers for each day during the 10 days for both personal and church use. We shall be using it for daily prayers and it is available at the web address below. If you know someone not on the internet and who would like one, please print one off for them or let Mark know and he’ll get one to them.

DAILY JOURNAL APP FOR PHONES AND TABLETS The Journal is also available as a daily app for Android and iOS. Go to App Store or Play Store and look for the Thy Kingdom Come Daily App by Trellisys.net. It’s a mixture of videos, text and audio podcasts. People speak well of it. The Church of England also do a Daily Prayer for TKC app which is written liturgy, more sited to groups.
